What is a TravelBrains Expedition Guide?
(For demonstration purposes we will use the Second Manassas Expedition Guide.)

The Second Manassas Expedition Guide is the ideal way to explore the battlefield of Second Manassas. It includes three components that were specifically designed to work together: a multimedia CD-ROM, a self-guided audio tour and a companion guidebook.

Here's how it works. It's a simple three step process:

Start with the multimedia CD-ROM. After installing it on your computer, watch the Campaign and Battle of Second Manassas come to life. Six different modules address the history of the campaign, the battle and the armies that fought there. It also includes a travel planning section to help you plan your trip to the battlefield.

When your ready, jump in the car and take your audio tour and guidebook with you. Chris Bryce, a former park ranger at Manassas National Battlefield Park, has written and narrated an unforgettable tour of the Second Manassas battlefield. The self guided driving tour will take you to the most important locations on the battlefield and explain the events, the strategy, and most importantly, the human drama that make the Second Battle of Manassas a remarkable piece of American history.

book tape The guidebook corresponds with the narration. Beautifully detailed battle maps are critical to understanding the ebb and flow of the fighting. Famous photographs and illustrations let you see the men who fought the battle and destruction they caused. The guidebook is also loaded with special "Did you know..." sections that provide fascinating trivia about the Civil War. Do you know what a Zuoave is? Don't worry, the guidebook has a complete description.

The audio tour is available on either a cassette tape or CD and takes approximately two hours to complete.
